在Windows XP上设置L2TP VPN连接

The following step-by-step guide describes the process of VPN-connection setup via L2TP protocol. After going through the steps below you will be able to use free Wi-Fi hotspots in public places securely, not worrying about your personal data safety, and visit websites anonymously, hiding your location.

Open the Network Connections settings window (go to Start->Control Panel->Network and Internet Connections->Network Connections).

Click Create a new connection.

Click Next.

Select Connect to a network at my workplace and click Next.

Select Virtual Private Network connection and click Next.

Insert any desired name for connection (for example SecureVPN) in Company Name box, and click Next.

Insert your desired VPN-server address and click Next.

Click here to get the list of servers.

Select Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop and click Finish.

Click on shortcut and insert accounting data:

User name - username
Password - password

Check item Save this user name and password and click Properties.

Important Note: your VPN username & password is placed in file readme.txt (was sent to your email after ordering the subscription).

Click on Networking tab and set Type of VPN - L2TP IPSec VPN.

On Security tab click IPSec Settings..., in appeared window set preshared key - a-secure-psk and click OK.

To connect click on shortcut and click Connect in appeared window.

VPN connection will be established in few seconds.

To break VPN connection click on Lan icon from System tray and click Disconnect.

If you need change address of VPN server - open properties of VPN connection (right click on shortcut and choose Properties), click on General tab and set new address of VPN server, then click OK.
